The Intestinal Transplant Unit in Spain is the only unit in the world capable of saving the lives of more than 200 children on the waiting list for a transplant. However, given the bureaucratic dynamics of the health secretariat and the intense rounds of paperwork to which the contracts of the unit's doctors are subjected, there was an imminent risk of definitive closure and, therefore, the imminent death of more than 200 children, whose lives would be lost in the midst of paperwork and bureaucracy.
That is why we created a campaign to accompany a protest that took place on August 16 at the facilities of the Ministry of Health in Madrid, where parents and patients demonstrated our signs to demand the unfreezing of the medical contracts so that the unit could continue operating.
After six months of struggle, in September, the contracts were activated again, and two new positions were granted to decongest the long waiting list of patients who, thanks to their courage, avoided getting lost in the papers of bureaucracy.

To accompany the protest, we created a typography capable of reflecting the anguish experienced by the patients and families of the NUPA transplant unit. We used the resource of what they were missing: an intestine. With this visceral texture and using the patients' initials, we created different posters so those attending the march could express the sense of urgency we needed.
